Dorothy Hughes House offers high quality sheltered accommodation

Dorothy Hughes House aims to provide its residents with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which the wellbeing and comfort of residents is of prime importance.

The house is an ideal place if you are lonely and struggling a little to cope on your own at home. We do not offer nursing care, but we can work in conjunction with Social Services if carers are required, in certain circumstances.

If necessary it may be possible for residents to be helped with fees through Powys Social Services

Dorothy Hughes House was opened 1993 by HRH Prince of Wales

Dorothy Hughes House is an independently run charitable trust led by a dedicated group of volunteer Trustees and Members.

The house is situated in the centre of Welshpool, on Westwood Road, which is within easy reach of most amenities in the town. Some of the amenities (pictured below) include Welshpool Steam Railway, Welshpool Old Station, and Powis Castle.
